We track the sun
We track the sun’s locations to provide sunrise, sunset, golden and blue hour for your location, to the minute. The dial here is running today’s lighting, for example.

Where the light falls
A Stop’s own hills decide when its light ends, and the cloud is read by its height, not just its total. At golden hour Stops rank by how good the light is there, never by which way they face: the angle is your call.

Worth going tonight?
Each Stop near enough to reach answers Yes, Only briefly, Probably not or Not tonight, with its minutes of sun, best first. A light alert tells you when a Stop you watch says Yes.

Woodland · the third face

A wood isn’t somewhere you face, it’s somewhere you stand in. So woodland ranks Stops by how close they are to a wood, lets you keep just broadleaved, conifer or mixed, and grades the day’s light as flat, workable or harsh from two readings: how diffused the sun is and how windy it’s forecast to be. The window says which rule closed it, rather than handing you an ambiguous number.

The distance to the woodland a Stop stands in. This is gated by the light, never a bearing, because a wood has none. Filter by broadleaved, conifer or mixed.

A description of the light, not a favourability: overcast and calm simply is flat.

The forecast reads 10m above open ground; a mature canopy is far calmer than that.
